Joey Holt knew that a simple cup of tea could make a world of difference in the fight against breast cancer. Now you can share a cup™ and help find a cure by hosting, sponsoring or attending a Pink Ribbon Tea™ event in your community.
Joey Holt’s Dream: The Pink Ribbon Tea
On November 21, 2010, Joey Holt lost a two and a half year battle with breast cancer. Before she died, she conceived of a plan to raise funds for research in conjunction with the annual Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation CIBC Run For The Cure event. Joey wanted to join the Run, but cancer treatments made her wish impossible. She realised that many others with cancer, or with other personal limitations, might be unable to participate as well, so she created a new way for them to join the fight. Joey’s friends and family embraced her vision, and in her memory the Pink Ribbon Tea was born as a fundraiser for The Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation. Now you too can host or attend a tea party to help raise funds for the cause close to all of our hearts.
